Everyone,
Just a few quick notes on upcoming rides and events.
We have the ride to Seasons in Lone Pine this Saturday the 18th of June. Plan is to meet at 1630 at the 76 in Inyokern and leave by 1645. I know the calendar says meet at 1700 but Mike Moore is leading this ride and he has reservations at Seasons for 1800 and he wants to make sure we get there in time for the reservations. So plan on being at the 76 by 1630 to be there for the ride brief.
Coming up at the end of the month on the 24-26 we have our annual ride to Yosemite. If anyone wants to go but has not gotten a reservation in Oakhurst Wade has a room there that he is willing to give up, he needs to cancel it if no one wants it. Also Amy and Scott Covert have an extra room. So if you want to go and see some of the best places on Earth contact one of them and they can get you the information on the rooms. We still don’t know if Tioga pass will be open by then but we are hopeful that it will. If not we will change the meet place to accommodate a different route. I will send out another email a couple days prior to the 24th to let everyone know where to meet. If we do go up 395 5o Tioga we will meet at the Pearsonville Shell at 0745 and leave at 0800. This gives us time to get up to the Mobile station in Lee Vining for lunch. If we go another route we will meet at the same time just at the 76 in Inyokern. Stay tuned for further information.
Coming up on June 27 is Harley’s Million Mile Monday. If you are out riding on that Monday plan on logging your miles. And if you aren’t going to be out that day why not just go for a ride and then log your miles. Any excuse to go for a ride is a good excuse, and this is as good of an excuse as any. On the 27th go to H-D.com/mmm and log your miles.
And one last thing for this email, June 19th is father’s day, so from me I want to wish each and every father out there a very happy Father’s day. And for everyone make sure that you take the time to wish your father’s a happy father’s day this Sunday.
That’s all for now but I will be sending more emails as things some up.
Ride safe and ride often. Silk

Ok seems like I am just totally out of the loop. There have been several
people let me know that the Thunder on the Lot poker run is Sunday not
Saturday. So anyone that wants to do the poker run here is the information. The registration is Sunday the 12th starting at 730 and going to 1000 at AV harley. Sorry for the confusion. Tracy |

Everyone, Bob Haber reminded me, once again since he had to do the same thing last year, must be an old age thing. Anyway he reminded me that Thunder on the Lot starts at 1500 Saturday and 1000 on Sunday. I know the poker run starts before that at 0730 with registration at AV Harley. The bad thing is the registration stops at 1000 so if you want to ride in the poker run you will have to miss our meeting. If you want to ride in it by all means please go have fun. Silk |

Everyone,
Just a quick email, or as quick as I can make it, about what is going on in the near future.
We have our monthly board meeting this Friday June 10th at Stan Austin Jr’s house. He is at 609 Sorrel in Ridgecrest. Anyone is welcome to attend. The time is 1800.
Our monthly meeting is June 11th at Charlie’s starting at 0900. Come early and have a bite to eat.
After our monthly meeting we have Thunder on the Lot at the AV fairgrounds. This is our sponsors yearly shindig he puts together. It starts Saturday and goes through Sunday the 12th. Bland sent me and email and said that he plans on riding down after the meeting for anyone that wants to join in with him. If you are able please plan on going and supporting Ron with this. He gives all the proceeds to charity so it’s for a good cause. And he always gives us 1000.00 to give to the Ridgecrest Boys and Girls Club so some of the money returns to Ridgecrest.
Remember to bring an unwrapped toy to the meeting for our Toys for Tots drive. We are going to be doing this each and every month till November then giving all of them to the Marines for their Christmas Toys for Tots drive. We made a really good start on this last month and we want to keep it going so we have a big pile of toys to give to them come November. Plus you get 5 drawing tickets for a toy. This was number two on the list of charities this year and we figured this was an easy way to support both them and the Women’s Shelter which was number one. Plus it will be good PR for us come November.
Next weekend the 18th of June we have a dinner ride to Seasons up in Lone Pine scheduled. This is always a nice ride and they have wonderful food. Plan on joining us for a nice ride up to Lone Pine and some good food that evening. We will meet at the Inyokern 76 at 1700 and ride up from there. It may be dark when we leave so come prepared with a light jacket just in case it gets chilly on the ride home.
We had a good ride up to Newcomb’s ranch last weekend. A couple of bikes went up on Saturday, I know Dennis Ambrecht and Adam McKay went up. Not sure how many others went Saturday but I know those two went. Then on Sunday after the AV meeting Scott and Amy Covert, Marc Sanders, Debbie and myself went up there. The ride was good, a bit of sand on part of the road but it was not that big of a deal. There were lots of bikes up at Newcomb’s but we got right in and had some good food.
Ok so much for making this short. I guess I don’t know how to keep these emails short. Forgive me but I just want to make sure everyone knows what’s going on and what rides we have coming up.
Thanks and ride safe. Silk

Everyone, Attached please find the 2011 RAG HOG calendar. Stan has worked very hard to get this put together and I thank him for his work. There are probably going to be some changes that will be made to this in the coming months but at least this gives everyone a place to start to look for what rides and activities they want to do in this next year. As you can see there are quite a few rides we have planned for 2011, there are several overnight rides planned. The first overnight ride is Bland’s annual Cabin Fever ride to Beatty. This is planned for the weekend of Feb 18-21. He is going to make it a four day ride this time with Monday the 21st as the ride home day. This is presidents day so it’s a holiday. He wanted to do this so there is another day to ride around the Death Valley area. We also have overnight rides to Silverton NV, San Diego, Yosemite and Morro Bay. The LOH also has a ride to Solvang planned once again in July. Last year this ride to Solvang was a huge success and Judy would like to make this year even better. And remember ladies you don’t have to be on a bike to go, cages are more than welcome. Scooter is once again doing his New Years day ride to Domingo’s in Boron. He is having everyone meet at his house at 9 new years day then leaving from there. His address is 533 South Norma. We will once again be having our monthly meetings at Charlie’s in the Carriage in the second Saturday of each month starting at 9 with breakfast starting around 8. Our January meeting is on the 8th. The AV meeting for the month of January is being moved a week due to the New Years day holiday. They will be meeting on the 9th instead of the 2nd. I guess Jeff is planning on not being ready to hold the meeting on the 2nd after New Year’s Eve festivities. I hope everyone will take a look at this calendar and come join us on some of our rides this coming year. Let’s make this another really good year with the Chapter. If anyone has any suggestions for other rides please let one of us know and we will see what we can do. And remember just because you come up with an idea for a ride does not mean that you have to be the one planning it. Just come up with the idea and we will see what we can do. Thanks everyone for making 2010 a great year and looking forward to an even better 2011. Tracy |

Everyone, One other thing that I failed to mention is our Car wash. Its Sept 4 also but we start at around 8 and go till 12 or so. This car wash is to support us. The last one was for our charities but this one is to make the cost of the Christmas tickets less. I would like to get everyone that we can out to support this as it helps the whole chapter. Or at least the ones that attend the Christmas party. We are going to have some sort of incentive for those that work this. Not sure what yet but we will come up with something. It may be a portion off of the Christmas tickets or something along that line. So if you plan on attending the christmas party its in your interest to come help with the car wash. It doesn't take that much time and we have a good time. Thanks Tracy |

Everyone, Just a reminder of what Wade told everyone at the meeting. Scott has gotten 40 tickets for the Jethawks game on Sept 4th. The seats are the first 4 rows behind the home dugout along the first base line. The tickets are $6.00 each. This is a Harley Night at the jethawks game. If we want we can ride around the field before the start of the game. Debbie and I went last year to this and we had a really good time. The ride around was really cool, its dirt but its really hard packed so its not a problem to take a bike around it. Even a bagger. I would really like to get as many people to go to this as we can. The tickets are for both us and AV but they are not pushing it very much so I would like to get lots of people to go down to the game and show Scott and Ron that we support them. Plus its a fun evening. If anyone wants tickets let me know how many and I will get them from Scott. Tracy |

Everyone, Just a quick email to let everyone know some things that have been going on and things that are coming up. Ok so it probably won't be quick, but thats just me. I really don't know how to make things quick so everyone will just have to bear with me. First off we have a request from Wade for some people to ride in a short parade/march on the 11th of Sept. This is called the March of 1000 Flags. Wade mentioned it at one of the meetings and said he was planning on leading it. However due to unforeseen events he will not be able to lead it. We are looking for someone to lead it. It will be a short 4 block ride down to Freedom park. I plan on being there but if we can get someone to lead this it would be great. This is a worthwhile event and one I think we should support. This is not a HOG event but still one that we should get as many people involved as we can. If you want to take the lead in this send me an email. We have our second car wash of the year scheduled for the 4th of September. This one is to raise money to offset the cost of the Christmas party. The first car wash we had was for our charities. This one will be just for us. Please plan on coming out and joining us to wash cars. We get started washing at 8 and are usually done by 12. This does not take to much time, I realize its labor day weekend but if you come out and help us on Saturday you will be done by noon and it helps to pay for our Christmas party. Third I want to remind everyone about Matarango Days. I know this is the same weekend as the Morro Bay/Paso Robles ride, but I know not everyone will be going on this ride. Please plan on coming out and joining us for some good times. Wade is still getting this put together but it looks like we will be doing the opening ceremony again then going to the park and doing some bike games. We have had a good time in the past with this so if you don't have anything planned come join us. Last I would like to ask everyone to please start looking around your houses for things that we can take to Ridgecrest healthcare. These are things for the people that are in long term care there. We would like to get together a large collection of items that we can take to them. They are looking for blankets, shampoo, and other things like that. I know that every time we travel we collect the shampoo, conditioner, and soap from the hotels and we plan on getting this together to take to them. We did this one year for the womens shelter so I think we can do it again. I think I can say that every one has unused blankets and such that they can donate. And its a really good cause. Who knows if this works out we can do it every year. I hope I have not rambled to long but I just wanted to get this out to everyone. Thanks Silk |

Everyone, Just a quick reminder that we are taking a ride to Lone Pine and the Totem Café tomorrow, Saturday June 19th. We will be meeting at the Inyokern 76 Station at 10:30 and leaving shortly after that. I expect we will be in Lone Pine around 11:45 or so. Tracy |

Everyone, Just a quick reminder that the RAG car wash is coming up on June 5th. I know its a couple weeks out but I will be sending more emails to keep everyone reminded that it is coming up. We need to have as many people come and help us wash cars as we can. The more we get the easier it is. And remember this is for our charity. Its from 8 till noonish. So please put it on your calender and come help. Thanks Tracy |

The Director's survey [see the RAG home webpage or the links below] is posted on the web site now for everyone who has not already filled it out to do so. Either print it out and bring it to the meeting or if you can save it to your computer email it to me. This survey is not only to give us an indication of the makeup of the group, but it is how we are going to pick our charities for this year. Thanks Silk The Survey is posted in three formats:
