Dear Friends,
I hope you can all make the bike parade at BHS. The kids are excited, as I
rode my bike through the quad at lunch today, and judging from their reaction you will be worshipped! Here is the final schedule for the Monday, May 22,
Burroughs Bikers Against Diabetes Bike Show/Parade:

1. We will meet in the staff parking lot by 11:30 a.m. (As you head north on
French keep going on the main drag around the curve. The staff parking lot is the first entrance on your right. If you miss that entrance, there is a second one you can use.)
Brian Auld would like us to have the bikes lined up in the quad before the
lunch bell rings at 11:40 so we avoid the madhouse and the students see the bikes before rushing off campus for lunch. I believe this will make a great impact!

3. There will be about 10 minutes of introductions to the fundraising/raffle and our special guest speaker, Rex Walraven, (you're still in on this, right Rex?). The plan is for you all to stay with your bike and answer (show off) any questions students may have.

4. Raffle will be promptly at 12:20 for people who donated to our diabetes fundraiser for that day.

5. Start our engines at 12:25 (let 'em rip!). I spoke with Officer Franco and she assured me that she or Officer Keys (motorcycle cop riding sweep!) would not pop anyone for loud pipes! I can't guarantee that for any other violations, so follow the rules, boys and girls - no running in the halls.

6. Mr. Auld will clear a lane for us to ride through the quad and out the student parking lot. Most students should have returned from lunch by that time, so the risk should be a tad lessened, but keep an eye out for teenage drivers!!!

I sure hope as many of you as possible can make it. I would love to overwhelm Mr. Auld with our show of support. Besides, the kids won't ever mess with me again once they see all of you. My back's covered, children!!!

15 May 2006: As of Monday, May 15, we have
raised over $200, but it doesn't show on the donations scroll!!!

This will definitely help our cause. Also, after Wednesday, I'll know more as
to where we will meet on Monday for the parade. I'll get that info out to all
when I find out.

14 May 2006: Our Judy Gerard (alias "School Marm") has a personal Bikers Against Diabetes (B. A. D.) webpage (see link below): The students and staff at BHS are sponsoring me...and they plan a big week-long event for May 22 - 26. We are planning a mini-biker parade on the quad at lunch on Monday, May 22. Keep that one on your calendar!!!
