The Ranch at Furnace Creek: Death Valley (Go...)

Originally built as a working ranch in the 1880's and later the home of the famous twenty mule teams, the Ranch at Furnace Creek today offers a complete resort complex in the heart of Death Valley National Park.

The 224 guest units are complemented by three restaurants, a saloon, a general store, The Borax Museum and a 3,040-foot airstrip. Boundless recreational opportunities include a spring-fed swimming pool, the world's lowest golf course (214 feet below sea level), tennis, horseback riding, horse-drawn carriage rides, hiking and touring.

The Ranch is located 120 miles northwest of Las Vegas and is open year 'round (some services listed vary seasonally).

Randy led 23 bikes and 33 folks to Death Valley...
many new faces among the warm crowd!
(Anne and Bobby and Debbie and Bruce aren't pictured)
How's that for RAG HOG participation?

Dwight, Drifty and Randy shared pictures here!...

We left R/C in two groups: Stan led the "slower" and
Randy the "faster" one...
with the slower in the lead for a while...
Mid-Panamint Valley...the "faster" group caught up with the "slower"...
There goes the "faster" group passing the "slower"!...
Actually...the "faster" never got more than 45 seconds ahead!
...
Furnace Creek 33 miles...our destination...
The "faster" group pre-arranged to stop for a potty break...
at the picnic area just short of Stove Pipe Wells...
The "slower" group rode on to Stove Pipe Wells...
where we all met up!...
This pic of the Stove Pipe Wells "clenchers" Kim and who...

Death Valley Sand Dunes...
Once the group got to the Furnace Creek area...
we scattered to eat wherever we wanted!... ;)
Some in the group had never or seldom
eaten at the Furnace Creek Inn...
and made it our destination!
Josh wondered out loud about perhaps a dress code
working against us HOGs. But we found the
service was very welcoming and friendly!...

What an outstanding historic structure!...
When we reached the elevated parking lot...
we were welcomed by a gentleman with a radio...
who notified the restaurant of how many we were...
so they could prepare!...
Kelly and Dennis would ride on to Las Vegas....
Debbie...Bruce and Scott....
Yep...Judy's infamous food pics!...
This colorful Gold Wing Trike-rider was from Beatty, NV.
She buys from the Furnace Creek Inn Shop...to resell in Las Vegas!...
Judy and I left the Furnace Creek Inn and rode to Dante's View...
on the eastern edge of Death Valley...
where the entire valley can be seen below!...
An on-coming Spider....
On the way up the grade to Dante's View...
we met Hal...Drifty...and four other bikes coming down from the view....
This pic was taken by Drifty at the Dante's View parking lot....
We walked a few hundred yards to see the entire valley...
View of Death Valley...looking north from Dante's View....
View of Death Valley...looking south from Dante's View....
This is me taking a picture for a church group on a field trip....
