Promises to be a warm windy day...before it's over!
That's Mel...hidding behind the umbrella pole...and Carl who
came to see us off
On HWY 178 toward Lake Isabella
Flee Market in South Lake
Lake Isabella...still pretty full
Paradise Cove -- our dinner ride destination on 28 June 2008
Kern River -- feeding water to Bakersfield farms
Bakersfield fruit orchards
Barry's brand new first tattoo -- got drunk one too many times!
We're not sure...but think Susan is a clean canvas for tattoos!... ;)
Drink no wine...before its time.
It's time!
Ethanol corn is everywhere in the valley
Watermelon
Bakersfield oil
Gas and beer stop in Mariposa!
Cheryl sharing with Judy
Beautiful ride to Pine Mountain
Cheryl thinking it's going to be a real steamer getting home!
And she's right....
Cloud cover is nice while it lasts
We tried to take an access road...parallel with HWY 5
but it turned to dirt!
Mike got a spontaneous nose bleed from dryness -- Neosporin anyone?
About to turn east onto HWY 138
We stopped for ice cream at the Rosamond Foster Freeze
and to cool off and retreat from the hot winds
