Debby and Dennis are looking to put together a trip to San Diego's Coronado Island on Nov 4-6 (flex weekend for those who work on base).

The El Cordova Hotel (across the street from the famous Del Coronado Hotel) has agreed to give us a group rate of $139 + tax per night for one-bedroom suites with an occupancy of 2 per room (normal rate is $235 + tax per night). We need to reserve at least 7 rooms to get this price. We need to get a fairly certain head count to see if there is enough interest in this trip to get the group rate. If seriously interested, please let myself or Dennis know by the next meeting, 13 August.

One of the ideas for things to do would be a tour of the USS Midway. The carrier was in operation from WWII through Desert Storm. Self guided audio tours last 1.5 to 2.5 hours. The cost is $15 for adults. See http://www.midway.org for more information.
