NOTE:
Judy and my digital camera had a "date" hic-up!
The dates imprinted on our pictures here
should read 4th and 5th of February...NOT February 5th and 6th, resp.
18 bikes...scattered here and there...heading to Beatty
on a beautiful Sunday crisp wintry morning
Annie's wired for heat...but claims not to have fired it up this morning
Rich and Dave riding in
KC and wife Truddie
KC was the biker with the Mojave Green wrapped around his
Fat Boy handlebars, 11 PM, 9 Aug 2005,
as he was riding home from work!
It's Bland's Cabin Fever ride...
so he's calling us to gather 'round
for ride instructions
Pretty handsome group...ready to ride
Industry in Trona
Stove Pipe Wells...entrance to Death Valley
New members...Susan and John...having tons of fun on their 1200 Sportster
Early season wild flowers in Death Valley
Thanks to Susan and John for these California-Nevada border pictures!
Rhyolite and Beatty, NV are just ahead!
Rhyolite Ghost Town off in the distance
Rolling into Beatty, NV -- our weekend destination
New Motel 6...
then the Death Valley Nut & Candy Factory...
then The Stagecoach Hotel & Casino

Fresh biker faces -- Susan and John!
As teachers like to say:
"The students stay the same age...
the parents get younger...
and the teachers get older...
with each passing year!"

Annie: "I think I hear people gambling out there!"
Meeting friends at the Stagecoach Inn!
More friendly faces!
Judy...ready to ride!
And we fast-forward to Gold Point, NV Ghost Town...
60 miles north of Beatty on HWY 95...
then turn west on HWY 266 at The Cottontail Brothel

The sigh actually reads:
"Men -- No Shirt, No Service
Women -- No shirt, Free Drinks!"

"Oh oh Stan...I seem to have forgotten my money."
"You're kidding, Barb. I'm checking my pockets.
If we don't have money...you'll have to go topless!"
"John...can I borrow a few bucks?"
"Sure...Susan!"
That's Herb Robins of Gold Point...
who met us in the street out front when we arrived.
Herb has tons of enthusiasm for all he and his friends are doing
to reconstruct and promote Gold Point!
Listening to Herb
Who's knocking?
Herb taking a few last questions about their town's history
Billee and Bland were accompanied by Wade and
Susan and John at:

Bailey's Hot Springs
(775) 553-2395
US Highway 95 N
Beatty, NV 89003

...just 0.1 mile or so north of Beatty on HWY 95.
There are 3 indoor pools: Hot, Medium and Cooler
So...John...how come you couldn't negotiate for
Billee and Susan to be in this picture? sigh
Meanwhile...back at the Stagecoach Hotel & Casino...
lookie what Lucky Annie's been doing!
Biggest of all possible smiles!
Dave's Krystal drove Debby and Dennis's trailer to Beatty...
to rescue Chris and Dave and their broken bike...
that blew a fork seal on the trip. sigh
Billee and Bland visiting with friends
The brick and tile work is so very unique and inspiring at
The Death Valley Nut & Candy Co.
in-between Motel 6 and The Stagecoach Hotel & Casino
Brick work inside the entrance ceiling

George's story for arriving late Saturday evening is that he
"...got home from work late, ate late, got drunk late, got to bed late...and got up late!"
=0 )

Chris and Dave in tears over their broken bike being trailered home!
Club members rode home Sunday in small groups for various reasons.
Billee and Bland were hosting a Superbowl Party...so had to get back early.

From here on...are Judy and my pictures we took on our way home.
Yes...Rhyolite Ghost Town...nearby Beatty, NV
We're parking the bike to walk around
an open air art gallery of outdoor constructions at Rhyolite.

"The Last Super" -- circa 1984
The sparsely populated town of Keeler...east shore of Owens Lake
Approaching Lone Pine...
Alabama Hills and road to Mt. Whitney in the middle distance
Totum Cafe, Lone Pine
