HWY 14 north of California City is getting new multi-lane construction...
not to mention hopefully a safer intersection at the Cal City cutoff!...
The aircraft "bone yard"in Mojave is shrinking...for whatever reason....
Renewable wind power...west of Mojave
That's Monolith off in the distance...between the wind generators.
Anyone recall to mind in the 1960s when the entire area
surrounding Monolith was white with residue from the factory?
Our breakfast destination -- Sattersfield's Restaurant, Tehachapi!
That's our new member, Jeff Thompson, sitting next to Judy.
Welcome, Jeff!
It's Dale's son, Chris's, 22 Birthday!!!!!
Dave crank'n 'er up!...
Domingo's nearby...another great restaurant in the Tehachapi area!...
Good that Harley's get pretty good gas mileage -- 40+ MPG
That's HWY 58 down there north of us.
We're up amongst the remote fancy homes...south of the highway...
on the ole Tehachapi-to-Keene (Bakersfield) road..
Looking toward Bakersfield, CA...near the Tehachapi railroad loop
Approaching Keene, CA...the home of Cesar Chavez
Judy and Don towed their utility trailer...to go shopping.
First stop is Bill Ray Tile in Bakersfield for thinset needed
to finish their floor tiling (master bedroom and bath)....
After Bill Ray Tile, Harley-Davidson, Borders Books, Trader Joe's,
The Dressbarn, Pier 1, Macaroni Grill, etc,...
usually the last stop in Bakersfield is Dewar's Candy Shop (est. in 1909)
on California and Eye Street (i. e., A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H,...and Eye Street....)
for a hot fudge or black & white sundie.
Gas prices in Tehachapi on our way home
