Eleven or so bikes head to Big Bear in the San Bernardino mountains.
We would split into three groups on the way home:
One headed for the festivities at The Shop in Lancaster,
another group headed to the B. A. D. Ride in Long Beach...
and a third headed home via Lake Arrowhead.
HWY 15 north to HWY 247 southwest of Barstow
A dust devil winding its way thru a group of campers off in the distance
HWY 247 to HWY 18 south to Big Bear
Big Bear City (Lake elev. 6754 feet)
Looking for FOOD!
Looked like a natural for HOGs...
but alas...they had no real food
Searching for a better restaurant
Hungry HOGs....
This is an accidental grey-shade picture...
where the only color recorded is red
Cowboy Express Steak House...a great choice for lunch!
Desseart awaits...some even took a pie or two home
Good chips and salsa
Winner take all $1 tickets...
...and of course Bland won!!!! Of course....
Leaving The Village...we split into 3 groups...
one heading to The Shop in Lancaster,
one to Long Beach and the Bikers Against Diabetes Rally...
and one headed home via Lake Arrowhead and a
gorgeous...if severely twisty...HWY 138 to the Cajon Pass and home
Early June...and temperatures between Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead
dipped to a nippy low of 48-degrees!!!! ;-)

Maybe it's Crestline...but here we're about to ride
down one heck-of-a steep dropoff in HWY 138.
We're not going straight ahead...but will veer off to the left
once we enter that shaded area across the intersection.
What use to be really scary was coming the opposite
direction...in the "ole days"...when they had a stop sign
at the top of that terribly steep hill at the intersection.
A friend in those ole days dropped her bike there.
